Álamos is a true Mexican village in the Sonora state. It is known both as the City of Portals and a “Pueblo Mágico,” or magical town, thanks to the town’s pure colonial architecture, granting it the official title of a magical town by the Mexican Tourism Secretary.
It is in here where you can experience incredible scenery, outdoor pursuits, wildlife, and enjoy local foods and flavors which are as diverse as they are delicious.
This is one of the lesser-known Mexican colonial cities, but was an important silver mining center from which its wealth derived from. In the 17th century, Álamos became the wealthiest city in the north of Mexico.
